VORTEX™ GASKET

TOMBO™ No. 9090

Because it uses PTFE with excellent chemical resistance as a filler, it can be used for almost all fluids if you choose an appropriate hoop material.
It is one of the best VORTEX gaskets in terms of sealing performance, and it can also be used for vacuum applications.
It is used for pipe flanges, pressure containers, heat exchanges, and valve bonnets from various industries. It is suitable for sealing against corrosive fluids and oxygen that other VORTEX products cannot be used for, parts that especially require airtightness, and vacuum sealing.
For applications using pure liquid oxygen, Nichias also offers an OX type that removes PTFE oil components.

VORTEX™ GASKET

TOMBO™ No. 1839R

It is a gasket with a large amount of filler outside the sealed surface and that enables a seal with less clamping force than regular GRASEAL™ and VORTEX™ gaskets.
It can also be used for low-temperature production lines such as liquefied natural gas (LNG), liquid nitrogen (LN2), and liquefied air.

TOMBO™ No. 1891-GR

It can be used under strict thermal cycle conditions, and as the load is concentrated on the serrated edges, it also demonstrates excellent sealing performance at low clamping forces.
An inner ring to prevent buckling is not needed and so it can be designed to have a narrow gasket width.
It will not come loose even when used for large diameters.
It is suitable for parts where the width of the equipment, such as heat exchangers and pressure containers, and flange seats is narrow and a VORTEX GASKET cannot be used.

OCT RING JOINT GASKET

The Ring Joint Gasket is a gasket processed into specific shapes by machining cast metal materials. It is used for high-temperature, high-pressure pipe flanges, valves, pressure containers, and heat exchangers.
OCT RING JOINT GASKET is a gasket that offers sealing properties by having the sealed surface and the flange grooves engage in surface-to-surface contact. If carrying out sliding work, the gasket can be reused (providing the sealed surface is in good condition).

The Ring Joint Gasket is a gasket processed into specific shapes by machining cast metal materials. It is used for high-temperature, high-pressure pipe flanges, valves, pressure containers, and heat exchangers.
With its oval shape, the sealed surface forms a linear contact and so it adapts easily to the flange grooves. On the other hand, the ring cannot be reused.

A flat gasket that is made by flattening metal.
The sealed surface adapts to the flange, and so a high clamping pressure is required.
To improve the sealing properties, nubbins may be machined on the flange.

Its shape gives it excellent sealing properties compared to flat metal gaskets.
Although it is subject to concentrated surface pressure, the flange surface may get scratched.
It is a gasket used for pipe flanges, valves, pressure containers, and heat exchangers.

By using it in combination with adapter packing such as TOMBO No.2250-A, it delivers outstanding sealing performance.
The drop in performance from ultra-low temperatures to high temperatures is minimal.
Expanded graphite (GRASEAL) has chemical resistance second only to PTFE and can be used for almost any fluid, except for the prohibited fluids below.
It has little stress relaxation and so it demonstrates stable sealing performance over the long term.

By using it in combination with adapter packing such as TOMBO No.2250, it delivers outstanding sealing performance.
The drop in performance from ultra-low temperatures to high temperatures is minimal.
Expanded graphite (GRASEAL) has chemical resistance second only to PTFE and can be used for almost any fluid, except for the prohibited fluids below.
It has little stress relaxation and so it demonstrates stable sealing performance over the long term.

By using it in combination with TOMBO No.2205_P, you can expect sealing performance and a significant reduction in sliding friction equivalent to that of the conventional GRASEAL PACKING combination (TOMBO No.2205_L + TOMBO No.2930, etc.).
The drop in performance from ultra-low temperatures to high temperatures is minimal.
Expanded graphite (GRASEAl) has chemical resistance second only to PTFE and can be used for various fluids (However, it cannot be used for oxidizing acids, oxidizing salts, halogen compounds, and combustion-supporting gases because they oxidize away the expanded graphite.)
It has little stress relaxation, and so demonstrates stable sealing performance over the long term.

It has fantastic sealing performance in comparison to fiber-braided packing.
Expanded graphite has chemical resistance second only to PTFE and can be used for various fluids (However, it cannot be used for oxidizing acids, oxidizing salts, halogen compounds, and combustion-supporting gases.)
It can be used on its own without using an adapter packing.
A string-like packing has a rectangular cross-section so that it can be easily installed into a stuffing box.
It is treated with Nichias’ proprietary anti-corrosive agent, and so demonstrates excellent anti-corrosive performance and can also be used well with valve rods made of 13 chrome steel.
It can be stored in a string-like form and so it can be used to address problems immediately in an emergency.
