We planted mangroves with the team from the factory in Indonesia
10/09/2026 EventPT Nichias Metalworks Indonesia(NMI) Plants 1,000 Mangrove Saplings in Pantai Bahagia, Muara Gembong, to Combat Coastal Abrasion
As a concrete manifestation of its environmental commitment and coastal disaster mitigation efforts, NMI successfully organized a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program involving the planting of 1,000 mangrove saplings. The initiative took place in the coastal area of Pantai Bahagia, Muara Gembong District, on August 27, 2026. Located within the same regency as the NMI operations in Bekasi Regency.

The environmental and social action brought together 20 participants, comprising top management and employees of NMI. To ensure proper planting techniques and long-term sustainability, the company collaborated with a local environmental NGO.

Protecting the Coast from Abrasion Threats
The initiative was driven by the urgent issue of severe seawater abrasion along the northern coast of Bekasi Regency. Continuous coastal erosion threatens the shoreline and poses potential risks to nearby residential communities. By planting 1,000 mangrove saplings, NMI aims to establish a natural barrier to safeguard the area.

Strong Collaboration Between Employees and Environmental Activists
The direct participation of company leadership alongside staff reflects an organizational culture that instills social and environmental responsibility across all levels, from top management to operational lines. "We hope this contribution of 1,000 mangrove trees will serve as a protective shield for the residents of Pantai Bahagia in the future, reinforcing our long-term commitment to growing hand in hand with nature and the community," stated a representative of NMI's top management during the event.
This green initiative in Muara Gembong marks a new chapter of synergy between the industrial sector and environmental conservation, paving the way for a safer, more sustainable, and productive coastal future.
